Establish
Meeting a person’s eyes is the first step towards striking up a conversation and making a positive impression. Make short frequent glances towards your target, if that person looks back and holds your gaze then "permission" has been granted to approach them and introduce yourself.
Maintain
Extend the length of your eye contact whilst they are speaking. The gaze for an average listener is three seconds, but by extending it to five seconds you reinforce your interest in the individual. By paying attention and demonstrating care, you not only make others feel important, but in their eyes you will be perceived as attractive.
Widen
Large eyes make a person look more appealing – a hard wired impulse which draws us towards youthful and energetic partners. Make your eyes appear larger by raising your brows and slightly lowering your eye lids - a technique that Hollywood beauties like Marilyn Monroe used to devastating effect.
